Location
Smailholm is a small village nestled in the Scottish Borders. Set midway between the market town of Kelso and ancient Melrose it is ideally placed as a base for many activities. Close by is Smailholm Tower, often visited in his childhood by Sir Walter Scott.
The Borders are famous for historical abbeys, ancient castles, magnificent country estates, walking, biking, fishing and shooting. We are also only an hour or so away from Edinburgh and just a little further from Glasgow.
